If you were anywhere near the Colorado medical scene back in 2009, you know damn well about Bio-Diesel. It exploded onto the map after completely sweeping the Colorado Medical Marijuana Harvest Cup, but getting your hands on it was nearly impossible. The original cut was a heavily guarded, clone-only unicorn held hostage by the guys at Denver Relief. They refused to hand out cuttings, so the breeders over at 303 Seeds took matters into their own hands. They took a prized Bio-Diesel female and dusted her with High Country Diesel pollen, effectively capturing lightning in a bottle. The resulting lineage is an insane four-way collision of Sensi Star, Sour Diesel, Original Diesel, and East Coast Sour Diesel.

In the tent, this plant is an absolute showstopper. It throws out dense, neon-green nugs completely threaded with dark, almost black-purple hairs, and it practically bleeds trichomes. Because of the heavy Diesel influence in the family tree, it demands heavy feeding and solid support for the branches as the buds pack on weight. And the smell? It's downright offensive. Properly cured Bio-Diesel reeks of pure, unadulterated chemical fuel and spicy black pepper, with a weird, sharp undertone of menthol that burns the nostrils in the best way possible.

It’s a perfect 50/50 hybrid that hits exactly how old-school gas should. The first rip sends a rushing, euphoric headbanger high straight to the dome, which slowly melts down into a heavy, muscle-relaxing body stone. You won't find this exact original cut floating around easily today, and 303 Seeds never bothered feminizing it, which just adds to the legend. Guys still dig through old seed stashes praying to find that original 2009 fuel-soaked phenotype that made Colorado weed famous.

Growing Bio-Diesel: what to expect

As an indica-leaning plant, expect a modest stretch after the flip (roughly 50–100%) and dense bud structure — which makes late-flower humidity discipline the main risk: keep RH in the 40s once buds fatten to stay ahead of mold. Growers familiar with Sour Diesel or Sensi Star will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
