The Flav by SubCool

Back when Subcool and TGA Genetics were putting out regular seed drops that shifted the culture, they dropped The Flav and absolutely blew minds. This one is a 60/40 sativa-dominant cross pairing a legendary Romulan mother with Subcool's famous Space Queen male. It's an old-school piece of breeding that captures the sheer raw power of Romulan and mellows it out just enough with the frosty, cherry-vanilla magic of Space Queen. Because Subcool passed away in 2020, getting your hands on original TGA packs of The Flav is practically impossible today, turning these seeds into holy grail collector's items for breeders who know what's up.
In the grow room, she finishes surprisingly fast for a sativa-leaner, usually ready to chop in about 55 to 60 days. And man, does she dump resin. The Flav is a hash maker’s absolute dream, completely caking her fan leaves in fat trichome heads. When you rub the stem or crack a cured bud, the smell is insanely complex. Guys on THCFarmer and Overgrow always talk about hitting this weird, hard-to-describe wheat flour or musty berry aroma right up front, backed up by straight fuel and a lingering haze. It’s funky, fruity, and aggressive all at once.
Smoking it is an all-day affair for a lot of legacy medical patients. The high starts with a serious, heady rush that gets you instantly euphoric, but that heavy Romulan side anchors you with a medicinal body stone so you aren't just spinning out into anxiety. You get the best of both worlds. MzJill has done some solid work preserving Subcool's genetic vault, but if you happen to find someone holding a cut from the original early-2000s regular seed release, you hold onto it with a death grip. Just don't confuse it with those new Flava Flav crosses floating around; the original Flav is a totally different beast.

Growing The Flav: what to expect
As a sativa-leaning plant, plan for a big stretch after the flip (often 100–200%) — flip earlier than feels natural and keep training options ready. Sativa-leaning plants also generally prefer a lighter feed than heavy indicas. Growers familiar with Romulan or Space Queen will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
