Man, if you were around the NorCal scene back in the day, you already know the real deal with Snowcap. A lot of folks get confused and think anything with 'Snow' in the name is just another Humboldt haze knockoff, but Ken Estes and the crew at Grand Daddy Purp Genetics had their own special cut. They crossed a Cat Piss male with Snow White—which itself is a crazy Jack Herer and Cat Piss mix—to create a sativa-dominant beast. This isn't one of those modern dessert strains. It hits you with an aggressive, room-clearing funk that smells like a mix of straight-up cat pee, lemon floor cleaner, and sharp menthol.

Growing this one was always a trip. You'd throw it into flower and it would just explode with this ridiculous vigor, stacking colas that eventually got completely caked in white resin. That's where the name comes from—the buds literally look like they got dumped in fresh snow. But you had to be careful, because she could stretch like crazy if you didn't train her right. If you dialed in the feed and kept the canopy managed, you were looking at a heavy yield in about 8 to 10 weeks of flowering.

The smoke is pure old-school sativa fire. It's not gonna put you in the couch like Ken's famous indica GDP. Instead, it blasts you straight to the dome with a clear, electric high that makes you want to build a shed or talk someone's ear off for three hours. It's the ultimate daytime stash for getting things done. But watch out, because every now and then you'll run into cats selling 'GDP Snow Caps'—which is just regular flower dusted in THCA isolate. That ain't the real Snowcap, brother. Accept no substitutes.

Growing Snowcap: what to expect

As a sativa-leaning plant, plan for a big stretch after the flip (often 100–200%) — flip earlier than feels natural and keep training options ready. Sativa-leaning plants also generally prefer a lighter feed than heavy indicas. Growers familiar with SoCal CatPiss or SoCal CatPiss will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
