Santa Maria is one of those legendary cuts with a backstory that sounds almost too wild to be true. Originally sourced from a Brazilian Amazonian landrace used in spiritual ceremonies, the clone was brought to the Netherlands by Highlife magazine editor Bernt Gundersen. Out of respect for its sacred origins, the crew at No Mercy Supply initially dubbed it 'Planck'. But the coffeeshop scene couldn't get enough of it, and the name Santa Maria stuck.
