Mob Boss by GrindHouse

Listen, if you were kicking around THCFarmer or ICMag back in 2009, you definitely remember when Steele Savage and the GrindHouse Medical crew dropped Mob Boss. This wasn’t just another hype cross; it was a serious piece of work. Steele took a clone-only cut of Chemdawg D—the real deal, mind you—and hit it with pollen from his Tang Tang males. For those not in the loop, Tang Tang was GrindHouse’s in-house work on Blue Sonja, which traces straight back to Breeder Steve’s legendary Blockhead lines. The result was a beast that dumped resin like nobody's business, leaving the buds looking grey-white because the trichome coverage was just that absurd.
Growing Mob Boss was always a pheno hunt worth the time. We generally saw two distinct expressions pop up. You had the Chem-leaning girls that stacked rounded, rock-hard colas, carrying that foul, offensive rubber and gas funk. Then you had the Tang Tang phenos—these threw out massive, spear-like colas with insane girth and a more nuanced, sweet-pine backbone. Both of them stretched hard and needed some serious support by week five of flower, but the payoff was huge. The BHO and hash yielders absolutely worshipped this plant because she dumped heavy on the wash.
A lot of seedbanks these days try to sling feminized seeds labeled "Mob Boss," but the old heads know GrindHouse only ever released this legend in regular form. And don't get it twisted with M.O.B. (Mother of Berries) out of Maine—that’s a totally different broad-leaf indica situation. If you were lucky enough to hold a cut of the true Mob Boss, you held a piece of real hash-making history. It was a 60/40 sativa hybrid that would absolutely ring your bell and leave your trimming scissors glued shut.

Growing Mob Boss: what to expect
As a sativa-leaning plant, plan for a big stretch after the flip (often 100–200%) — flip earlier than feels natural and keep training options ready. Sativa-leaning plants also generally prefer a lighter feed than heavy indicas. Growers familiar with ChemD or Tang Tang will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
