Lawrence Ringo, the undisputed "King of CBD," put Southern Humboldt Seed Collective on the map when he dropped Harli-Tsu back in the early 2010s. He took a Sour Tsunami male and hit a Harlequin clone with it, long before anyone in the mainstream cared about CBD. Ringo knew exactly what he was holding, though. This cut went on to absolutely dominate, taking home 1st Place for "Best CBD Flower" at the 2014 Santa Cruz Cup and crushing the Emerald Cup.

If you were lucky enough to pop the original regular seeds, you'd know she actually grows like a stout indica despite having that heavy sativa lineage. She stays squat, vigorous, and throws thick, resinous colas. Because Ringo originally dropped these as regular beans, growers had to keep a sharp eye out during sexing so a rogue male wouldn't ruin the crop. A lot of old heads swear by pushing her a week or two past the normal harvest window just to let those medicinal cannabinoids fully mature.

The real magic is in the ratio. You're looking at a reliable 20:1 CBD to THC ratio, often hitting up to 21% CBD with almost zero THC. It doesn't get you ripped, but it completely melts away nerve pain and anxiety. For the medical growers who still keep this cut alive, it's absolute gold. It's real, functional medicine without the heavy head trip.

Growing Harli-Tsu: what to expect

As a sativa-leaning plant, plan for a big stretch after the flip (often 100–200%) — flip earlier than feels natural and keep training options ready. Sativa-leaning plants also generally prefer a lighter feed than heavy indicas. Growers familiar with Harlequin or Sour Tsunami will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
