Grimace OG by Archive Seed Bank
ThaDocta from Archive Seed Bank knocked it out of the park when he put together Grimace OG. He managed to track down a verified Humboldt clone of the legendary Purple Urkle and dusted her with his infamous Face Off OG #4 BX1 stud. The goal was to bring that classic, sweet grapey Urkle flavor into a much more robust, resin-drenched OG frame, and it worked flawlessly. This cross even managed to grab 3rd place for Best Indica at the 2013 LA Cannabis Cup, proving it can easily run with the big dogs.
In the grow room, Grimace OG usually finishes up around the 58-day mark, which is pretty damn quick for anything carrying heavy OG genetics. You'll generally find two main phenotypes popping up. One leans hard into the Urkle mother, throwing beautiful deep purple colors late in flower with a ridiculously sweet berry and floral nose. The other pheno takes after the Face Off side, giving you a slightly stretchier plant with a higher calyx-to-leaf ratio, caked in frost, and reeking of burnt rubber, pine, and lime gas. Dropping your night temps in the last couple of weeks will really make those purples pop, no matter which pheno you end up with.
Breaking open a cured nug is an experience. The smell usually hits you with sweet, fermented grapes right off the bat before settling into a deep, earthy, piney OG funk. When you roll it up, the high is beautifully balanced but definitely heavy on the body. It completely melts away physical stress and tension while keeping your head wrapped in a thick, euphoric haze. It's heavy enough to put you down if you overdo it, but just right for kicking back after a brutal day working in the garden.

Growing Grimace OG: what to expect
As an indica-leaning plant, expect a modest stretch after the flip (roughly 50–100%) and dense bud structure — which makes late-flower humidity discipline the main risk: keep RH in the 40s once buds fatten to stay ahead of mold. Growers familiar with Purple Urkel or Face Off OG BX1 will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
