GrapeGod by Next Generation

If you were anywhere near the British Columbia scene in the mid-2000s, you definitely remember the absolute chokehold GrapeGod had on the market. Next Generation Seed Company took their legendary God Bud and hit it with a super bright, citrusy Grapefruit cut. The result was this incredible hybrid that married the ridiculous density and resin production of God Bud with a terp profile that smells exactly like a freshly opened pack of grape candy. It didn't take long for it to bleed down into the US West Coast and become a staple on Colorado and Washington dispensary menus.

Growing GrapeGod is an absolute joy because it’s got that old-school BC vigor. She flowers fast, usually finishing up around 50 to 55 days indoors, and stacks these dense, frosty golf-ball nugs that have unreal bag appeal. If you drop your night temps in the last couple weeks of flower, she'll fade out with these beautiful, dark purple and violet hues. I've seen guys pull massive yields off her with basic top-and-feed setups, and the hash return is always surprisingly generous considering how sweet the terps are.

The smoke itself is legendary. You get smacked with that sweet grape and earth on the inhale, but the high is what keeps people coming back. It's this serene, euphoric head lift that slowly melts into your bones without completely locking you to the couch. It’s the perfect daytime indica for old heads who still want to get some work done in the garden. Next Generation really captured lightning in a bottle with this cross, and it's a shame you don't see true cuts of it floating around as much these days.

Growing GrapeGod: what to expect

As an indica-leaning plant, expect a modest stretch after the flip (roughly 50–100%) and dense bud structure — which makes late-flower humidity discipline the main risk: keep RH in the 40s once buds fatten to stay ahead of mold. Growers familiar with God Bud or Grapefruit will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
