Back around 2009, Bruce Banner flipped the whole scene upside down. Bred by Jason "OG Ironlung" Holck over at Dark Horse Genetics, this monster cross of OG Kush (Ghost cut) and Reservoir's Strawberry Diesel was shattering potency records left and right. Out of the original five seeds popped, it was the legendary Bruce Banner #3 phenotype that took down the Denver Cannabis Cup and became an absolute staple. It was the white whale for a lot of growers back then, boasting THC levels that routinely broke the 25-30% barrier before that was a normal thing.

This plant grows with insane vigor. She naturally wants to form a stout, bushy structure but will stretch aggressively when you flip her into flower. Because the canopy gets so thick, you have to stay on top of your topping, LST, and defoliation to get light down to the lower sites. Give her about 9 weeks in the flowering room and she'll stack dense, sticky boulders that will absolutely wreck your carbon filter. She’s an aggressive feeder, so don't be afraid to push her a bit once she's settled into flower.

The bag appeal is off the charts, but the terps are what keep people coming back. It’s a crazy loud mix of sweet, fruity strawberry notes colliding with a sharp, earthy diesel gas. The high is exactly what you’d expect from the name—a massive, instant cerebral rush that gets your heart pumping and the creative juices flowing. It’s a phenomenal daytime smoke that eventually rounds out into a warm, heavy body high, leaving you perfectly baked but still completely functional.

Growing Bruce Banner: what to expect

As an indica-leaning plant, expect a modest stretch after the flip (roughly 50–100%) and dense bud structure — which makes late-flower humidity discipline the main risk: keep RH in the 40s once buds fatten to stay ahead of mold. Growers familiar with Bruce Banner Nr3 will recognize much of its behavior. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
