He sourced these two pure South African landrace males directly from a contact named Tokestar and dubbed them "The Durban Bros." He took that pollen and dusted it over Nebu's Black Russian. The result is a 60/40 sativa hybrid that was never released as feminized seeds, meaning you had to pheno hunt the old-fashioned way.

In the garden, Black Durban is an absolute joy to run. She stays fairly compact for a sativa-dominant cross with really tight internodal spacing. But if you top her, she throws out these massive, vigorous axial branches. I’ve seen outdoor growers pull absolute trees because she responds so well to being bush-trained. Indoor guys usually take her about 9 to 10 weeks. She stacks decent yields of resin-drenched buds that occasionally throw deep purple and black hues if you drop the temps right before harvest.

The terp profile on this one is wild. While you might expect pure spice and anise from the Durban side, growers consistently report these crazy candy aromas—think straight Skittles, Starburst, and sweet honey oil. You’ll occasionally find a pheno that leans more into a dank, sharp hash smell, but the sweet candy phenos are the keepers. A lot of modern pollen chuckers try to pass off crosses of Durban Poison and Black Bubblegum as "Black Durban," but if it ain't from KOS, it ain't the real deal.
