AK47 by Serious Seeds

If there’s one golden rule I preach on the forums, it's this: if you want AK-47, you buy it from Serious Seeds. Period. Simon bred this absolute monster back in '92, completely refining it by '99, and it has been snatching trophies ever since. Don't let the aggressive name fool you. It wasn't named AK-47 because it's a violent high; it got the name because it's a "one-hit wonder." It's a complex blend of Colombian, Mexican, Thai, and Afghani landraces, and it remains one of the most perfectly balanced sativa-dominant hybrids you can possibly put in dirt.
In the veg room, she grows fast and open, which makes her a breeze to prune. But you've got to watch her once she starts flowering. AK can be a bit leafy depending on the phenotype, and she loves to stretch, so you'll want to top her early to get an even canopy. The resin production is just stupid. By week six, the sugar leaves are so heavily frosted that they curl up, and the smell becomes intensely loud. It’s this wild mix of earthy sandalwood, spicy floral notes, and a weirdly sharp cherry-citrus bite right at the end. You absolutely cannot grow this without an oversized carbon scrubber.
What keeps me coming back to the Serious cut is the sheer consistency. Even with all the exotic hype cuts floating around today, AK-47 holds its own. The smoke expands in your lungs and hits you straight in the dome before you even exhale. It’s a soaring, euphoric head high anchored by just enough of that Afghani lineage to keep you from spinning out. It’s an old-school staple, and anybody running a serious garden needs to experience the real deal at least once.

Growing AK47: what to expect
As a hybrid, expect a moderate stretch after the flip (around 100%) — but watch the plant, not the label: phenotypes within AK47 can lean either direction. Whatever the listing says, the cut in YOUR tent is the ground truth: log feedings, readings, and photos, and let the trends — not the label — drive decisions.
AK47 FAQ
Is AK47 an indica or a sativa?
The breeder doesn't specify — treat it as a hybrid and read the plant.

Standard cannabis bands work well: VPD 0.8–1.1 kPa in veg and 1.0–1.4 kPa in flower, with humidity stepping down from 65–75% as a seedling to 40–50% in late flower. See the stage-by-stage table on this page.
